Please arrive in plenty of time to allow for parking and map plotting 

The event will be centred at the an old quarry site 1 mile inside Fetteresso Forest (Grid Ref: OS 764865 on map 45) and will take place in the forests of Drumtochty and Fetteresso.

Entrants will register between 08:00 and 10:00 am and will be required to have brought as a minimum the following kit: -

Cycle helmet
Compass/GPS
First aid kit
Basic tool kit (min. of puncture repair kit/pump)
Pens (required for marking up map)
Waterproof jacket
Food and water
....and your bike!!

At 10:45 am there will be a brief welcome speech, which will include important safety information about the event and the area in which the event is to take place.

At 11:00 am all entrants will be given a list of point values which they will then have to transpose to their maps and decide upon a route which will give them the highest score possible taking into account the terrain, weather and personal ability. Thereafter each entrant/team will have 5 hours to complete their route. Failure to return to the start position within the allotted five-hour period will incur a penalty based on a graduated penalty scheme.

On return to the start, entrants will hand in their electronic point recorder and their time will be recorded.

Finally at 5pm once all scores have been worked out, there will be a prize giving ceremony for the winners of each category. 

The graduated penalty scheme is as follows: -

• Between 1 and 9 minutes late = 5 points per minute
• Between 10 and 19 minutes late = 10 points per minute
• Between 20 and 30 minutes late = 20 points per minute
• Over 30 minutes late – all points lost
